DJI Neo brings an aerial perspective to everyday videos in a compact, approximately 135g aircraft. Start a shot from your palm, let the camera follow a person, or connect a compatible controller for more direct flight control. Its full-coverage propeller guards make the small airframe practical for travel and casual vlogging.
A 1/2-inch image sensor captures 12MP photos and video at up to 4K/30fps. For social posts, Neo also records 1080p vertical video in a 9:16 format. A single-axis mechanical gimbal works with electronic stabilization to reduce shake. HorizonBalancing is used during standard control; compatible FPV setups allow a choice of RockSteady, HorizonBalancing or stabilization off.
Palm takeoff and landing let you start without a separate remote controller. Subject tracking is designed for people, while QuickShots add movements such as Dronie, Circle and Rocket. Shooting-mode availability depends on the control method. Connect a smartphone over Wi-Fi to use the DJI Fly app, adjust shooting settings and operate its virtual control sticks. Compatible remote controllers and goggles offer additional ways to fly.
Neo stores recordings in 22GB of onboard memory. Transfer clips wirelessly to DJI Fly with QuickTransfer, then use the app's editing tools to prepare them for sharing.
Each package also includes propeller guards, a pair of spare propellers, a gimbal protector, a USB-C to USB-C PD cable, a screwdriver and four spare propeller screws. The aircraft supports direct USB-C charging; the two combo packages add the hub for charging spare batteries.
Rated flight time is up to 18 minutes without propeller guards, or 17 minutes with guards fitted. These figures were measured under controlled, windless, sea-level-equivalent conditions at 2m/s forward flight in Photo mode until battery depletion and forced landing. Actual endurance varies with settings, environment and firmware.
Neo has Level-4 wind resistance and downward positioning sensors, but it does not provide obstacle avoidance. Use suitable lighting and open surroundings for tracking, and follow DJI's instructions when taking off from or landing on your palm.
A1: DJI Neo fits casual creators who want an approximately 135g palm-launch flying camera, simple person tracking, protected propellers, and 4K clips. It is not intended for advanced obstacle-rich autonomous flight.
A2: DJI Neo uses a 12MP 1/2-inch sensor for photos and video up to 4K/30fps. A one-axis mechanical gimbal works with electronic stabilization, and 1080p vertical recording is available.
A3: DJI Neo can use palm operation, smartphone Wi-Fi and virtual sticks, RC-N3, or compatible goggles with Motion 3 depending on the package. Each method offers a different level of range and control.
A4: DJI Neo is sold as No RC with one battery, Fly More with RC-N3 and three batteries plus hub, or Motion Fly More with Goggles N3, Motion 3, three batteries, and hub.
A5: DJI Neo is rated for up to 18 minutes without guards or 17 minutes with guards in controlled testing. Wind, tracking, Wi-Fi use, temperature, battery age, and reserve policy reduce real time.
A6: DJI Neo control range and live view depend on whether it uses smartphone Wi-Fi, a compatible remote, or goggles. Do not apply the specification from one control method to another.
A7: DJI Neo supports direct USB-C charging, while the two combo packages add three batteries and a Two-Way Charging Hub. Confirm the required USB-C PD source for travel charging.
A8: DJI Neo has downward positioning sensors but no obstacle avoidance. Full-coverage guards protect the propeller area, yet the pilot must keep the route open and supervised.
A9: DJI Neo supports palm takeoff and landing, person tracking, and QuickShots such as Dronie, Circle, and Rocket. Tracking is for people and does not provide collision avoidance.
A10: DJI Neo is optimized for quick stabilized clips and 1080p 9:16 output rather than high-end RAW or 10-bit production. Control method affects available shooting modes and stabilization choices.
A11: DJI Neo provides 22GB onboard storage and transfers clips through DJI Fly QuickTransfer. It does not rely on a customer-added microSD card for its normal recording workflow.
A12: DJI Neo has Level-4 wind resistance in the product description but is not waterproof. Its low mass makes gusts, rain, low light, and obstacles especially important for route choice.
A13: DJI Neo weighs approximately 135g, with guards included in every package. A controller, goggles, three batteries, hub, and cables expand the kit beyond the pocket-size aircraft.
A14: DJI Neo's low weight may reduce some requirements, but local registration, remote ID, airspace, privacy, commercial use, FPV observation, and operations near people still need checking.
A15: DJI Neo buyers should choose the intended control method first, then plan batteries, hub and charger, spare props and screws, guards, gimbal protection, and any goggles or controller.
A16: DJI Neo is designed for one casual creator, while FPV goggles can restrict outside awareness and may require an observer. QuickTransfer and app editing support fast social delivery.
A17: DJI Neo is strongest for quick personal clips and low-burden travel. Choose Neo 2 for newer sensing and higher frame rates, a Mini for stronger camera production, or Avata 2 for dedicated FPV.
A18: DJI Neo has no obstacle avoidance, a one-axis mechanical gimbal, 4K limited to 30fps, and short rated endurance. Palm launch and guards do not make indoor or crowd flight automatically safe.
A19: DJI Neo support should include aircraft and controller or goggles serials, firmware, battery details, logs, invoice, exact control method, error video, and impact photos. Coverage depends on region and damage.
A20: DJI Neo recommendations need country, palm-versus-controller use, tracking activity, indoor or outdoor environment, desired video format, battery target, charging access, goggles interest, and travel style.
